Terms of Service
Last updated 5 November 2026
The short version
- You must be 18 or older to use Lucid Dungeon.
- Replies are written by AI models. They are fiction, they can be wrong, and they are not advice.
- What you write stays yours. You are responsible for it, and for what you share with other people.
- Sexually explicit content is not allowed, and nothing sexual involving minors is ever allowed. Breaking the rules can get your content removed and your account closed.
- Pro is paid in advance by UPI and never renews by itself. It starts once we have checked your payment.
Who we are and this agreement
Lucid Dungeon (“we”, “us”) is an app for writing characters and talking to them. It is run by an individual based in India. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use it.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy, and, if you buy Pro, to our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.
You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email address. There is no password, so keeping your Google account and your inbox secure is what keeps your Lucid Dungeon account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
What the app is, and what it is not
Characters’ replies are generated by third-party AI models, reached through OpenRouter. A reply is produced from your character’s description and the conversation so far. It can be inaccurate, inconsistent, repetitive or unexpected, and a model can produce something neither you nor we intended.
Characters are fictional. A character is not a real person, even when it is written to sound like one, and nothing a character says is professional advice — medical, psychological, legal, financial or otherwise. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line rather than relying on a character.
Content policy
You are responsible for everything you put into the app — characters, their descriptions and instructions, pictures, and what you say in chats — and for what you share with other people or publish to the library. Romance, conflict, horror and dark themes are welcome. The following are not, whether you write them yourself or steer a character into writing them:
- Sexually explicit content, including explicit sexual roleplay, graphic descriptions of sexual acts, and content whose purpose is sexual arousal.
- Any sexual or sexualised content involving minors, including characters described as or implied to be under 18, whatever their stated age or species. We remove it, close the account, and report it to the authorities where the law requires.
- Real people in sexual or degrading content, or characters built to impersonate a real, identifiable person in order to deceive, harass or embarrass them.
- Harassment and hate: threats, content that targets a real private individual, and content that attacks people because of their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
- Serious harm: content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders, and real-world instructions for weapons, explosives, dangerous drugs or malicious software.
- Anything illegal under Indian law or the law where you are, and pictures or text you do not have the right to use.
- Abusing the app: sending share or friend requests to people to spam them, getting around limits or bans, scraping, reselling access, or attacking or overloading the service.
We do not read private conversations as a matter of course. We may look at content that has been reported to us, that is shared or published, or that we have good reason to believe breaks these rules. If it does, we may remove it, stop a share, take a collection out of the library, or suspend or close the account, and we may do so without warning when the breach is serious.
To report something, use Report an issue in Settings.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you write and upload. So that the app can work, you give us permission to store it, to send it to the AI providers that write replies, to show it to the people you share it with, and, if you publish a collection, to show it to everyone signed in to the library. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people have already made (see below).
When someone starts a chat with a character you shared, or with one from a collection you published, they get their own copy. Their copy is theirs: deleting your character or your account does not delete it.
As far as we are concerned, you may use the replies characters write for you however you like. We make no promise that a reply is original or free of other people’s rights.
The app itself, and the ready-made and official characters we write, belong to us. You may chat with them and keep the copies the app makes for you, within the app.
Plans and payment
Lucid Dungeon has two plans. Free gives you 10 messages in total, with one character per chat. Pro gives you 200 messages a day — the count starts again at midnight India Standard Time — and group chats. Each reply a character sends counts as one message, including a reply you ask for again and each character answering in a group. Pro also lets you have 10 replies a day read aloud, counted from the same midnight; each press of play counts as one, including the same reply played again. Pro also gives each character a gallery of up to 10 pictures or GIFs, counting their picture and chat background, any of which can be made their picture or chat background. Free does not include reading aloud or galleries. Free keeps up to 3 characters and Pro up to 20, counting every character in your account, including ready-made ones you have added and copies you have taken. If Pro ends while you have more than Free keeps, you keep them all but cannot add another until you are under the limit.
- Pro costs ₹399 a month, bought for between one and 12 months at a time, or ₹3,999 for 12 months. Prices are in Indian rupees.
- You pay by UPI, to the UPI ID shown in the app, with the payment note the app gives you, and then enter the transaction ID from your UPI app. We check each payment by hand against our account, usually within a day. Pro is not active while a payment is waiting to be checked; it starts on the day we approve it, or when Pro you already have runs out.
- If we cannot find a payment matching what you submitted, we reject the request and the app tells you so. If you did pay, contact us with the details and we will look into it.
- Pro is paid in advance and does not renew. When it ends you are back on Free — your characters and chats stay, but group chats stop replying until you have Pro again. Pictures already in a gallery stay for you to look at or delete, but you cannot add more or use one as a picture or background.
- We may change the price of Pro. A new price applies only to payments made after the change, never to Pro you have already paid for.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Changes to the app and to these terms
The app is still being built. Features will be added, changed and sometimes removed, and it may occasionally be unavailable. We will try to keep it running and your content safe, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and when a change matters we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. That deletes your characters, chats, pictures, collections and shares straight away, as described in the Privacy Policy. Any Pro time you have left ends with the account; if you want a refund for it, ask before you delete the account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close the app altogether, we will give notice and refund the unused part of any paid period.
Warranties and liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond those written in these terms, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what an AI model writes.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Lucid Dungeon in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute about them is for the courts of India. If you are a consumer, you keep any protection the law where you live gives you.
